SORRY!

I am really sorry for the hiatus! :O I really didn't plan it, it just happened. I have been a little off track. And I felt like junk when I realized I wasn't doing anything to get to my goals. My goal of a fit and happy life... yeah I was, if anything, sabotaging myself. I was making safe to eat cookie dough everyday for like a week. And I wasn't working out. It was a dark time. So, I am getting back on track. I have a plan to workout for a least 30 min at least 6 times a week until farther notice. Whether it is walking, running, punching the punching bag, JUSTDANCE2014, or who knows what! My mom agreed to pay me $1 for every time I do that. That isn't so much for motivation, as it is so that I can get something nice. I want to get some nice workout clothes, sign up for mud runs galore, and I need new running shoes. (the soles are tearing.)

I am going camping in Brown County in June, which I am so psyched about! One of my current goals is to get light enough to ride the horses. They have about a 250 weight limit, I am 20 lbs away. Once I get to that weight I also get to take archery lessons! It's an old deal I am so excited about!

I also want to go Zip-lining while there, so I need to be fit enough for that.

My plan (I am counting on you to keep me accountable):

1. Run/walk outside every opportunity.
2. Hit the Gym everyday.
3. Count calories.
4. If I can't get to the gym, and the weather is bad, do JUSTDANCE.
5. Eat breakfast/drink protein shake.

It's been too long!

Dear guys and gals,

I am struggling. I have been sick the entire month of February and so far all of March. I am trying to stay positive, but alas, it is harder than it sounds. I haven't made it to the gym. I have made terrible food choices. I just feel awful. I am reinstating my goals, but I have to modify them. I have to get there some how so I need to figure out how.

I am starting with portion control and food choices. And I want to workout again, but my mom says to take it one step at a time. I am not sure I agree. I think of it as, when I eat better... I want to workout. When I workout, I want to eat better! So they should go together. I have been in a major slump, and it's time I get out of it!
I want to get back to fitness to inspire!

I want to get back so this will happen! ^^

I may be overweight, unfit, and unhappy right now. But, with hard work, I know I can change it!

Athlete.... I like the ring of that.

So I have this dream of being an Athlete. But I have a problem with food. I love it. I am in the process of learning food is for fuel not for indulgence. I love that foods that are healthy for you are also really good. But I am here to talk about how I want to be an athlete.

My dream of being an athlete has never been stronger, I just have to push myself to get there. What to I mean by athlete? Well, I mean I want to be someone with is fit and competitive, someone who participates in sports, also someone who is healthy.

I made a list of what "Athlete Valerie" will be able to conquer.

Here is the list:

  1. Can run a half marathon nonstop
  2. Eats right, focus on fruit, veggies, and lean meats.
  3. Can climb a rock wall.
  4. Is able to run a Tough Mudder
  5. Runs Daily
  6. Finds workouts
  7. Makes time to workout
  8. Works out on race weekends.
  9. Invents ways to be active.
  10. Avoids/Doesn't eat fried or gas station foods.
It is my life's goal to complete #1.

Here is a list of what I will be in the health aspect.

  1. Has a healthy weight.
  2. Maintains a healthy Blood Pressure.
  3. Doesn't have belly fat
  4. Has a healthy/close to healthy BMI.
  5. Has a low body fat percentage.

Those are my goals as an athlete. To get there is going to be a challenge. But Challenge Accepted.

A sort of mission change!

So, my goal was to lose weight and get fit. And ultimately that is still my goal, however, I have this thing wrong with me. I don't know what. I dry heave randomly, and get really bad headaches.... So as of right now the mission of this blog is to follow my progress with this thing I call Illness X. I want to show that I can still be a fighter, I can still get to my ultimate goal. Right now though, I just have to focus on what I can.

Illness X interferes with workouts, though I still try to go to the gym. But! I CAN eat better. I CAN count calories. I CAN possibly start at home yoga/other workouts. I CAN stay strong and be an Overcomer! I CAN look to the Almighty God to help me through this! I CAN do I a lot. I WON'T let this stop me. I'll just have to go a little slower than I planned.

My mom is calling the doctor again tomorrow, hopefully we will get some answers soon. Not knowing... That's the hardest.

So, at least for a bit I'll be focusing on getting through this.

Song of the post! Overcomer by Mandisa. Check it out.

So, I've been thinking..........

Like the title says, I've been thinking. About a lot of stuff. I recently started my new school, it a virtual public school and I love it! That does mean, though, that I am home a lot more. So, food. I have put in my house more fruits and veggies that I love. I had some pomegranate seeds this morning... but I spilt them. So I made some fattening stuff.. I feel bad now. I have decided I am going to attempt Paleo. I am not sure. I really like cheese and bread, but I know that they don't like me... So for now, I am just going to focus on clean eating!

I have been sick for the last week or so, but I continued to do Just Dance 2014, almost everyday! It was good. It helped me feel better. Tonight I am hoping to go to the gym to walk for a few hours, maybe run a little. (Yes, I said a few hours.) My dreams are to run the runDisney marathon, and a girl has go to start somewhere! I have to increase endurance first and foremost! That will be the tough part.

As a last thing to say, I know a lot of people who come up with excuses, silly ones. And I am sorta tired of it! If you want to do something but you are worried about what people will think, ask yourself "Why Not?" "Why can't I do this?" If it isn't illegal, immoral, or lethal, "Why Not?" That's my little rant for today.

Why Not?

Goals Baby

This picture is a virtual representation of my goal self.
It has my current body looks and what I would look like at my goal weight. I won't be dissapointed if this isn't the result, or I don't get to my goal weight, but it's important to have goals. Other goals of mine are to be able to run a mini marathon by next year. And I want to complete the Warrior Dash. What are your goals?
